It is hard to know who you can trust. How do you check a mechanic out to know that they know what they are doing?

I think this is a wonderful idea for a blog! I am looking forward to learning something new about cars--well, for me almost anything about cars is new!
I think that telling us how to do the simple things like checking oil, changing oil filters etc., would be great and I think that homeschooling families (and others) would find this a great resource1
